4 reasons why Law is different from Medical and Engineering

Have you ever wondered, why Medical studies and Engineering studies have so much demand among students while Law is also a professional degree studies and have the same value and Reputation like medical and engineering field but you would hardly see students hustling hard to get into law colleges and see so many students rush to get into medical or engineering colleges. If you are from India or studying in India, you will definitely experience it!!!

If you are in a law school you would usually see that there are number of students who also hustle hard to get into law school, but its not like medical or engineering students who had this dream and ambition to take these fields from childhood. If you ask any law student why did you choose law as your career ? than  40% of the law students will say that they wanted to do something different from medical and engineering but yet a professional degree, while 20% of the students will say that they wanted to do professional degree and since they were not eligible for medical or engineering they had this last option of choosing law as a professional field, while 20% students will be from a law background family who opted law to continue in their family law firm, while 12% students will say that they got inspired by various shows and series on lawyers and that's how they ended up here, And almost only 8% students will say that they actually liked this field and wanted to be a lawyer since childhood.

Now that was a very rough figure and percentage regarding law students view points on why they took law. So now lets see why law is different from medical and engineering.

Firstly, Medical studies only focuses on medicine and science, And Engineering studies focuses on technology and inventions while, Law studies focuses on overall every field such as contracts, torts, property, banking, environment, medicines, patents, trademarks, theories, languages, technologies, taxes, parliament, psychology, business deals, international relations, human & animal and various rights and liabilities etc., besides from its core subjects like criminal studies, civil studies and constitutional and judiciary studies.

Secondly, Medical and engineering student are more likely to be tested on book related knowledge while law students are tested not just on basis of book related knowledge but more likely are judged and tested on their experience, confidence and their speech and representation.

Thirdly, Medical and Engineering can be easily done by an intelligent introvert student while law is most likely better carried on by an extrovert. Law is totally depended on the outer representation and the confidence and logic a person expresses on the spot. However that does not mean that an introvert cannot do well in law, As research work is the key of every successful case and that can be done by an intelligent introvert, but in long run this wouldn't be much favorable for your case because it would require another extrovert person to portray your research work with confidence in the court room.

Lastly, Medical and Engineering students career depends on the job placement while Law students career depends entirely on that person itself. Yes!! No doubt that even medical and engineering students career depends on that person itself, and a law students career also depends on the job placements, However in an average scale out of 100% only 20% medical and engineering students actually have successful career due to their personal skills performed and inventions done, while rest 80% medical and law students run for job placements after their studies. But incase of Law student, even if they run for job placements in big law firms, their entire career depends on  their skills, because no matter you are belonging from a law background family or got a job in a big law firm, if you couldn't showcase your researching skills and confident representation continuously than your career will not be secured in a long run.

Well, this was just my rough view point regarding law career, as per my experience as a law student. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog.
